How do I watch videos that are on my laptop on my TV without connecting the laptop?

do you own a ps3?
if so download a media server which will stream the content from the laptop to your tv via your ps using your home network0 -
Those Sumvision media players are very capable for file playback playing back files which the larger chipset manufacturers Sigma Designs and Realtek cannot play. The only real downsides are that the remote can be a bit carp and there is no networking. The remote isn't a big issue and could easily be replaced with a universal remote if was necessary. A media player would be capable of playing far more than a Blu Ray player, they are usually very limited with the files that they will play.Oh that thing.
Yeah my TV is small but it does the job and I didn't have to pay for it.
So can you recommend a cheap media player then?
Work out whether you need networking first of all because that will eliminate quite a few options of which there are thousands!

Cheap doesn't always work well and at least the Sumvision players have received fairly regular firmware updates to fix any file playback problems. That shouldn't be ignored IMO because many cheap players never get firmware updates which make them a dead product the moment you purchase IMO.0 -
Ken, I don't own a PS3 or any console but might get an XBox 360. Does the same thing work with that?
A.Penny.Saved Thanks for the advice
