Hi there
I have been using Vyke for three or four months to send texts from UK to a friend's European mobile number. I paid £10 all that time ago and still have £3 credit in my Vyke account ... I think those texts only cost me 1p each especially since my mobile is WiFi enabled so I only have to use GPRS when away from WiFi coverage.
My question is has anyone else found Vyke useful? Or noticed any problems?
I notice they have some kind of free trial at the moment and last night I uploaded their latest java application Vyke Mobile Pro which seems to be offering completely free SMS right now (data connection charge aside).
My son was also trying it out last night. He's on Orange PAYG and has a friend in France he likes to stay in touch with by SMS. I think the standard Orange charge for one text normally would be 20p for him so Vyke SMS is potentially a huge saving.
However, I can see that Vyke is about much more than free SMS and I wondered what others used it for.
I have I think noticed a small problem with Vyke SMS in the last day or so only ... a Vyke SMS arrives at the other end just like a normal one from your mobile, but when the recipient just uses "Reply" to send you a response, I think some of their responses are lost in the system. I wonder if the network providers are obstructing such replies by identifying something in the header information??

Hi,
I ahve just tried to download Vyke to use for cheap texting but the free download doesn't seem to be on the site? Am I missing something or is there a problem. Does anyone else use it?0
