I'd chance the curries too, it's probably the same stuff that's in ready meals just in a can.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

When you say you're going away are you going to have to take food with you ?
What about taking packets it's much lighter to carry.Asda do a range of Vegetarian meals, nut roast;meat free burgers; meat free sausage etc. although you'd need a microwave.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Tinned soups are good, tinned fruit is convenient and tastes nice if a little sweet.
The Fray Bentos pies are quite good in a pinch, if you have access to an oven.0 -
Hi
Thanks for all your replies. Yes I just want to know whar tinned food people rate / don't rate. One ring stove, no fridge (not that its needed in this weather), no nearby shops. Just need some hot emergency meal ideas that can be thrown together in about 30 seconds.
Thanks for the replies0 -
For breakfast I like the porridge pots that just need hot water adding to the pot.
For a more substantial meal pasta with stir in sauce, doesn't take much longer than warming up a tin of pasta .
And inpersonally love spam.
Make sure you check that whatever you buy can be cooked on a stove though, we've had a few disappointments where after a long day at a festival we've gone to make the meal we were looking forward to and found it's microwave only.
And don't forget the tin opener!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
my boyfriend really likes those currys in a tin from Asda, they also do a tin of I think it's called Cajun chicken which he really rates too0

I really fancy beans and sausages on toast now0

I hope you are going wherever it is by car, it'd be a right pain lugging all those tins on the bus or trainEarly retired - 18th December 2014
