Morning all,
Not quite so cold here today but quite blowy so will get a wash on the go, I am having to phone up sick again as I still have a horrible cough, I hope they can get cover for me.
Need to drop dd at work this morning then a day in the warm for me, I do hope this starts to clear by tomorrow.
Chicken Kiev for dinner, with either mash or oven chips will see how I feel later.
Rosy congratulations on the new Grandson :T:T
Hilstep hugs for you.
Have good days all xx
BB I meant to say I love your woodburner, I wonder if you could pm me an idea of costs ? we are thinking of having one installed next year but as always it will depend on cost xx0 -
Morning all.
Really cold here this morning, the school run is done, housework, washing and dinner all prepped and ready to go.
the car boot is full of bits for me to take to the charity shop, I need to pop into Iceland and Mr T's whilst I'm out, then I've gotta get back, sort a few bills out nip to the farm shop and pet feed place to buy supplies for the animals to last the next few weeks.
Got to nip into Folkestone this eve to collect an old fashioned coat, hat and umbrella stand, I've wanted one for ages, couldn't believe my luck when I saw one advertised on a for sale site for £5!
hope you all have a lovely day xG.C July £21.09/£1000 -
Hi everyone,
NMLC I feel for you.
BB, I'll go back and look at the stove but we have two in the Yorkshire house and we love them. I used to hate the open fire we had in our first house, it was so messy, hard to light and slow to get going, but the woodburners are just the opposite.
Well I didn't get anything done around the house yesterday because I spent the whole day in MK. I was hoping to stay home today but DH wants me to go to Wickes to pick something up for him. Hopefully that won't take long and I'll get the housework done today.0 -

Morning jacksmummy, we aren't too far away from each other, down here in Kent.
Bit gloomy here, off to gym and swim today, best laid plans went awry yesterday as I locked myself out and had to get DHs keys from him about 15 miles away, still, had good long walk along the seafront in the afternoon.
Freezer dinner tonight, don't know exactly what yet. Want to plan December meals today too.
Hugs to those that need themCarolbee0 -
Morning
Blue sky and sunshine here but brrrrrrr it's chilly and frosty.
Busy day for me today. Have Challenging Behaviour course this afternoon and I have to pop out shortly into town to get new hat and scarf for DD.
Tea will be something with chicken and peppers, I am thinking rice/paella type thing.
Sorry it's a quick one, check in later x
Hugs and spoons all round xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all.
got back from the weekend dash to B'rum yesterday afternoon. It was odd handing over DD & SiL's gifts so early, but they are going to his family this year and we don't know when DH's procedure will be - it will stop him driving for a bit afterwards, even though it is only a test.
So, we made the most of it and enjoyed good weekend including a meal out, and a visit to the Christmas Market in central Birmingham It's a proper Christmas market, with lovely crafts, decorations and German food all in decorated stalls. It was clean and very enjoyable - makes the Christmas market here look a bit drab tbh.
We came back via Cribbs Causeway as it is just a bit down from the Severn Crossing. naively, I thought I'd have 5 minutes in M&S - the place was rammed full with queues of 50+ people at the tills. It was so bad that staff were handing round biscuits to try to soothe the queues. Needless to say, we had a bit of lunch elsewhere and enjoy the Grommit exhibition and the sparkly silver decorations in the Mall. Once home, DH slept while I pottered at things.
I have managed to develop a wry neck from travelling, so I am a bit of an odd shape atm, but managing to do what's needed. I still have about 150 papers to polish off this week, then must start on my Christmas cards etc. My mother has a significant birthday at the weekend but my sister has planned the last bits and has given me my list of 'to do's thank goodness.
Butcher sausage, bacon etc for dinner, as it is quick and easy. It is cold and grey here but my thermal vest is doing very nicely.
Julie - what a shame!
Dumpling- evil kitten could be lively kitten (almost an anagram!)
Have a good day all xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all,
RosyRed I forgot yesterday to congratulate you on the birth of your new Grandbaby. I'm so pleased for you.
I'm trying to be so brave this morning. The cats have shredded my bin bag again and I need to go out to clean up. Sense is telling me I need to go out in case the temperature drops any further but the coward in me keeps telling me its too cold. I guess i'm going to have to kick the coward in me into line.
Tell me, all you women with grown up sons. Do you get messaged by your sons girlfriends moaning about your sons? Ive spent the last part of an hour answering messages from my sons girlfriend. She started off asking how I was before going into a full blown 'why wont he commit to me?' type of conversation. It really is difficult to know what to say in such a situation. Ive got a few of his exes on my Facebook too but they get deleted every so often. I very often get foul mouthed rants on my newsfeed from the one ex in particular, I put up with it because she has my Gandson and he's a lovely lad. She might not mention my sons name in any of the rants but I sure know who she is on about! It gets tiring at times trying to avoid making situations a whole lot worse. If I make a suggestion, then I am defending him. If I ignore her rants then i'm defending him.
Hubby came home to candles last night. Not that I was feeling amorous or anything, the living room is a lot colder than the rest of the house and I sat there frozen watching television. I thought the candles might help. They didn't.
Hubby wasn't impressed. I took the toilet seat off the toilet last night (to scrub and disinfect it) and I couldn't get it back on. He didn't get home till gone 8 and before he could do anything he had to fiddle around with the toilet seat (but it was very sterile I might add in my defence).
Daughter number 2 is mithering over Christmas. The sales are on and she wants her Christmas vouchers early. Jeez, whats wrong with waiting for the January sales I told her but she's seen a dress she likes and some toys for Grandbaby blahh, blahh, blahh.
Daughter number 1 sent me a message to see if I have found Nan yet. She's not very happy with me I can tell. The message said 'U found Nan yet?'. No 'how are you Mum' or any other pleasantries. Just 'U found Nan yet?'
All this headache and I haven't even had my breakfast!
Jobs for today:

Sod the rest.

Good morning,
Thank you for all the good wishes for our lovely new Grandson:) They came home yesterday afternoon and are settling in,DS1 and I are hopefully picking DGD up later and taking her to see her Daddy, DiL2b and baby brother so I'll get chance for a proper cuddle.I've been making an extra hm ready meal for them whenever Ive batch cooked so I'll take them over as well, there's meat pie, corned beef pie, curries and a complete roast dinner,it'll tide them over and save time while things are hectic this week
Had a nice surprise this morning,a phone call from friends in Australia, nearly didnt answer cos I saw the unusual code on the phone and thought it was someone selling stuff :rotfl:They emigrated a few years ago and tend to come back every 2 years but missed this year, but said they'll come next year.
I've got a shepherds pie out of the freezer for tea.It would be very handy to put the timer on the oven so its hot when we get back but I've hardly used it so will have to hunt for instructions :rotfl:
Luxor-I had a mince pie while waiting in the queue at marks last week;)
Butterfly- nice burner,we certainly like ours, warmed the place up beautifully last night.
Hugs to Hilstep,& all the people under the weather and coughers x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon Everyone
Again, i am sneaking on during work hours...:p:p
Very chilly here today!! No sun shining and Mr Frost was very busy overnight.
No school run for me this afternoon as mum is off work and will be taking DD back to hers for tea so just little me to worry about. Didn't get round to the jacket spuds yesterday as we ended up going to mum and dads for sausage casserole and snuggling infront of their log burner-So lovely and cosy!
So...jacket spud for me.
Need some inspiration for meal ideas so i am going to spend this evening reading through some old threads on here (i really enjoy doing that:j) see what i can come up with and pop them in my pad.
Will go back and have a read of this thread in a moment but first,i spy someone popping the kettle on...Cuppa for me then!
Hope everyone's having a good day so far and keeping warm.
Hugs xxWorking mummy to a beautiful 7 year old girlie...1 cat and 1 dog. Tired and stressed but still smiling!0 -
Afternoon all,
Rosyred congrats on your new grand baby sorry I missed that with all the hassle with my leg:T
BB I love the woodburner, we have a coal fire which I like but if we were planning on staying here I would have a wood burner. We are hoping to sell when our youngest goes to Uni so there is no point but I'm jealous:D
I'm a bit flat today, but I got a great nights sleep last night after fretting the night before the supposed operation.
Had day lazy morning and feeling more rested.
Tea tonight is tuna steaks and I'm going to make some kind of spicy rice to go with it. Off to look for a recipe.
Have a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
