Delayed flight

We booked BA flights through our local travel agent to fly Dublin/London and then London/San Francisco however our Dublin flight did not get in on time to allow us to make the USA connection. BA put us up in a hotel and flew us out the next day. Would we be entitled to compensation from BA?
