My friend gave me her old phone and I am not used to it and it is so sensitive to the touch. Many times it accidentally made phone calls when I am trying o flick through my contact lists and I do not know how to end the call and ends up being charged or calling the wrong person. Can anybody help? The phone is the basic htc wildfire. Thanks

Flick through without touching the green handset symbols on the right side. If you accidentally tap the name it will offer you another screen before dialing the number.

Tap the common red handset symbol?

Installing Google Gesture Search App is likely to make finding the contact you need easier.

The screen goes blank and I cannot see the red end call button.

Don't know about the black screen (I guess pressing shortly on/off button has to awake it), but in my Contacts >> Menu >> Preferences I can untick box "Show dial button" for Contacts (also for Favourites and for Call log if needed).

You will probably be able to control it better if you use a stylus rather than your fingers ....you can get them from the pound shop.

Dont be scared to touch it and end up tapping it instead. My missus did the same.

Touch it and keep your finger there and it will offer options where a quick tap is assumed to want to open or lauch it right away.
