ISP contract issues following house move

I notified my ISP I was moving, and they did not reconnect the broadband line for 3 weeks after the move. I had paid 12 months line rental up front (about 5 months remaining at the time) and was previously on a deal with 50% off the monthly tariff. I was told I would need to sign up for a new contract, and agreed to 12 months provided the terms and conditions were same as before. When the bill came through, the tariff had no discount applied. The service now has uncapped downloads, but I found the previous 60GB enough. I entered a lengthy correspondence (over 3 months) and now the ISP is offering a 24 month contract at the reduced tariff. On a 12 month contract from the move date I have 8 months remaining, but a 24 month contract from the date of the move leaves 20 months. I would have switched ISP if I had known the terms would change adversely. The ISP appears not to be listening to the facts of the matter. Is there any recourse open to me, such as OFCOM?

Your up front deal is lost when you move.

OFCOM is not an arbitration service so probably not - your issue is whether you notice the 'deal' you were bring offered at the time of your new connection and challenged it. If not, you will have accepted it. It is down to them and if they agree, provide a goodwill credit to compensate you.
