Phones4u and Vodafone return policy difference

First Question is this that if i buy 2 contracts from vodafone is it not my right that i can use any of my numbers on these contracts or is there no way I can swap my numbers around from one contract to another without cancelling and paying huge termination fees.

Second Question is that I was sold this contract on the promise from both vodafone and phones4u that I would be able to terminate my old contract and bring old number on this new contract. After I have signed new contract vodafone is saying it will take 30 days and i will be on pay as you go during this process which is different than what i was told before i bought this. Their suggestion is to retrun my contract to Phones4u within 7 days however Phones4u do not run a 7-day return policy they have told me several times and they have told this to vodafone as well. Due to difference in their policies I now have an additonal 24 Month contract on my account. What can i do now?

Third Concern is that if Vodafone is offering 7-day return policy and Phones4u is offering their services then Vodafone should know that anyone buying contract through Phones4u is no longer entitled to their 7-day return policy or they rely on Phones4u to tell this but then give wrong information to their customers. I rang about 4 different people next day of my contract and within first 4 days each single one of them said Phones4u will cancel it within 7 days and they can offer me same phone (no gifts though) and i will have new contract on my old number.

Fourth Question may be for someone who know internal systems at providers that if Vodafone can switch me to a new contract on upgrade can they not switch my number to a new contract I have bought from Phones4u? (This is when I pay an early termination fee)

I am looking for answers and possible direction to complain that I was misinformed and if such a complain have any value.

No, you can't swap numbers between contracts even if both contracts are on you name.

I don't see the difference. They told it was possible and it is possible indeed.
I don't quite understand why Vodafone need 30 days for this, but you can possibly speed this up by porting in two steps via another network's PAYG sim.

Nothing if it was in-store purchase.

If you buy from p4u it's p4u's policy that matters. Why would they tell you about Vodafone's one?

Vodafone's telephone CS are notorious for their incompetence.

Some networks (O2) can transfer number from an old contract to a new one. I guess Voda's system doesn't allow this. Computer says NO.
