G24 letter

My Pregnant Wife managed to get a letter from G24 as she had over stayed in a Shopping center car park in North Wales. G24 want £60 if paid within 28 days otherwise it goes up to £100.
She did not see the signs :( and got a letter through the post last week.
I feel its unjust as she was shopping in the center before hand.
My wife just wants to pay it (saving the aggro due to the fact that shes pregnant and I work away most of the time) however I feel that it is complete BS and I dont want to!
What would you suggest if you were in this position?
Thanks :D

of course it may be unjust, but unfortunately that may not make this "go away"

what do we all suggest ?

we all suggest you read the sticky threads and compose a letter from the RK to the PPC disputing the charge and asking them to cancel it

and if they dont, you require a popla code and appeal it to popla

    do not ignore it !!

the required templates and plenty of threads to advise you on how to word all of this are also on the forums here

in any case do not admit who the driver was, , use the third person

the RK denies this , the RK asks for that etc

also find all receipts and bank statements for the shopping trip

complain to the store managers and find and complain to the landowner too

just have a good read and you will see what has to be done, you are not the first and wont be the last

just do not believe that your emotional response or expecting them to be compassionate will work , it wont as they just want their ton of flesh

You don't need to waste your money paying anything.

You send in an appeal to the PPC with an appeal like this

    Dear Sirs,

Your ref xxxxx Vehicle reg x xx xxx Date dd/mm/yy

With reference to the above matter,

I wish, as registered keeper, to appeal against the above ticket.

The driver informs me that they saw no signs at the car park in question and I therefore conclude that your signage must be non-compliant with the BPA Code of Practice.

I note that you have a requirement that if the keeper names the driver, then that person needs to have a serviceable address.

Taking that into account, I am appealing as the keeper on the poor signage and the fact that the charge is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss.

If, however, you are willing to accept a name and address from a driver with an unserviceable name and address, please let me know otherwise accept this appeal from me as keeper.

    Yours faithfully,

    name

    Keeper

Ah G24 ..... one of my favourites ! So let's start with some facts :

    1. G24 have never done court
    2. G24 broke their contract with Nominet by giving firstly a PO Box address and then, when challenged, a false address.
    3. G24 avoid paying tax to HMRC.
    4. G24 are a bunch of scammers.
    5. G24 broke the BPA Code of Practice by not offering a 40% discount for early payment but the BPA refused to discuss giving anyone who had paid the incorrect amount a refund.

Now you know these facts, tell your wife and see if she's still so willing to part with £60 that could be used to buy say, decent bedding for the cot ?

What you need to do is appeal direct to G24 and then to POPLA ( if G24 reject your direct appeal ). See the sticky thread at the top of the main page ( https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822 ) for detailed instructions from those in the know.

Plenty of people have lost at the initial appeal stage to G24. Nobody who has had help from here has lost at the POPLA stage.

Expect to have your appeal turned down by the Police. It is the POPLA code you need and One of our aided appeals will see you win there.

This was one poster's take on such an appeal:

    :D

But you will find normal examples liked in the 'newbies, read this now!' sticky thread on this forum near the top, it's why I wrote it, to answer most queries. And you will need the POPLA appeals info there when you get your POPLA code.

Finally you should certainly complain to the Retail Park Management and/or Store Manager and/or CEO of the retail chain, because their agent has broken the law in fact, as your wife is pregnant (to think she wants to PAY for them breaking the Equality Act)!! She needs to learn that she is protected by law right now!:

See post #15, the official complaint I wrote for someone, which cause Morrisons to scuttle to cancel a fake PCN. Use that and amend to suit!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Would that not imply that I have to let them know she was the driver in the initial appeal letter stating that she was 6.5months pregnant at the time? Or leave it out?

    Many thanks.
