Just seen it listed in my wifi services, no idea what it is. I've got an iPad. Anyone know what it is? Here's what I mean:

Don't think that should be there!
telnet is a text based program to connect to computers.

It's used to get basic access to a computer Operating system. Have you installed any programs or applications lately?
I don't have an iPad but i'm 60% sure that Telnet should not be listed as a service unless it has been installed on the device to get root access for some reason.
I might be wrong...Laters

Typically it's used for command prompt stuff. I'm surprised it's been left open on an iPad as Apple usually like everything to be well locked down.0

How do I get rid of it?0

Is it a virus?0

Deleted my earlier ramblings as I think the penny has dropped with me having looked more carefully at your screen dump...
I think your iPad is reporting the services available on your wireless router which is on IP 10.0.0.1
It would be quite normal for it to have the http service as that is just the web config pages. While many routers don't have a telnet interface obviously yours does. It's nothing to worry about.0 -
I don't know how to help you as I've never used an iPad.
But have you installed anything lately?
Hopefully someone else in here that has an Ipad will come along and help youLaters

Would 10.0.0.1 be your router? Telnet would be normal there, for management.
What app is that on the iPad? Is it a network scanner?0 -
No my router starts with 192. I haven't installed anything apart from apple apps and I don't have a computer or laptop so I haven't been connecting my iPad to that or anything. The app is called Fing. I've reset my router but telnet is still there, kind of worried that some creep is spying on me or something haha. x0
