o2 pac time limits

hi Does anyone know if o2 have a time limit of when you can pac an old number over to a new contract

i've got a sim only deal on orange which has 4 months to run can i pac this number over to the new o2 contract in 4 months time or is this a no no

as I've asked o2 & can't get a yes or a no out of them..

I think that you'll find there is a 30 day limit once that you've been given the pac code by the network you're leaving.

yeah i've found out about the 30 days on the leaving network its the joining o2 I'm trying to find out... but maybe that will be about 30 days & 4 months is just a bit much

I checked with T-Mobile last month as i will be ending my voda contract in Jan but wanted to get a new contract now. My plan was to get a new T-Mobile contract now, use the new number for a couple of months then port my Voda number over when that contract was up. I was told by T-Mobile that i would not be able to do that as numbers need to be ported soon after the new contract is set up. Now i know that its not immediately and although she wouldnt tell me how long i have to port the number i got the idea that it needs to be done within a week or so rather than a few months. She basically told me NOT to get a new contract with them now but to wait until i was in a position to port my number.
