Hi all,
I am moving house and cancelled my Sky subscription.
I am keen to just get a Freeview box to save on the monthly costs, but I just wanted to see if anyone could suggest the cheapest way of getting the sports channels (Sky Sports 1 and 2)?
I don't think I am able to get a satellite dish installed, so Sky itself is out.
This might be a silly question but thought others might think of something I have missed.
Thanks,
Tanya

You can get Sky sports without subscribing, but its expensive. If you sign up to Sky Now, they have an entertainment package, movie package, and sports access. Its all streamed via an app so no dish required. I believe the entertainment package is about £5 per month, the movies are £8.99 per month, and the sky sports 24 hour pass is 9.99 - which is extortionate. If you have a laptop, you can sign up online, or its available on many smart TV's, PS3 etc. Currently offering a 30 day free trial.
The alternative to sky is BT which has BT sport, not sure about Sky sports. You may be in a cable tv area as well, so worth checking.0 -
Sky Sports 1 & 2 are available via BT TV and Talk Talk TV but both require both a terrestrial TV aerial and a decent broadband connection. These are the only choices for Sky Sports besides Sky and Virgin Media. You will need to investigate which broadband provider is available to your location and the prices for that connection. Both also require a set top box (usually chargeable) from that provider which will also receive Freeview and some will receive the Youview "catch-up" on demand services.0
