  • That one would be a good choice, do you have an aerial feed available?

Although the investment of another tenner will get you a hard drive more than 300% larger.

the link should show two , but anyway there is a 9150 and a 9300 and as macman says , 300% more storage sounds good
just that £229 or thereabouts is a bit steppe for a bedroom PVR otherwise we`d get a new one , yep , aerial feed currently working on standard freeview little flat screen

I've never owned one but the general consensus a while back was that these PVR's have issues with recording. They often cut recordings short and this is due to the way Humax implemented accurate record on these PVR's

Only if you want to manually set the recording. If you use series link (or whatever it is called on this PVR) then you cannot manually extend the recording.

My advice is do NOT buy either of those. They are DVB-T i.e. SD only and will become superseded relatively soon... Buy a DVB-T2 (HD) version as it will be more future-proof - even if a bit more expensive. NB This is what the two new HD muxes being rolled out are designed to signal as being the 'way to go'.

Note 2: Some makes of PVR can be noisy and hence unsuitable for bedroom use. I think the Humax ones are quieter than average though.

I got a cheap Manhattan PVR for the bedroom and it has the option to add to the start and to the end of the recording

5 minutes either side. Channel 5 seems to be the worst at having the first couple minutes not-recorded.

(Got it as it was cheap and quiet)

As Walcott reported you can do the same with the Humax IF not recording a series. My only issue with the 9150 is that for some recordings it skips forward while playing back a programme. It jumps only a few seconds but it is extremely irritating and happens only with some shows(I copy points of view on Sundays and this phenomena occurs 2 or 3 times in it's short running time). Most progs run fine though.
