On O2, I was getting an average of about 5, though with several dips. With Sky, I get about 20% more (over 6 a few minutes ago), with no noticeable flat periods.

Did you get 6mb to begin with or has it settled at that over a few days?

You guys need to learn how to find your router line statistics and how to interpret them.
They provide difinitive data regarding your connection.
Speed testers while useful give variable results depending on network traffic.

I got just under 5 for a couple of days and then the increase to nearer 5.7-5.9 regularly.

I do realise that the 6 plus I had earlier is subject to traffic, as it had dropped to 5.9 a few minutes later. However, there is a noticeable increase from average 5 to average 5.8. (I'm not really interested in an exact measurement)

Up to you, but what you are quoting is meaningless in terms of your actual link speed which is easy to obtain by logging on to your router.

    Yes

    Yes but bell wire removed.

Nothing has changed at my end. Both the O2 router and the Sky Hub showed same connection speed after Sky switch. I checked the O2 router which had reconnected automatically before I replaced it with the Sky Hub.

If you only switched yesterday then Sky will be running their DLM for the next 10 days or so. Whatever you do don't switch off your router, leave it on constantly until the 10 days are up.

Your line will be set at the fastest speed it can handle.

Ok thanks. Doesn't seem to have started DLM as yet.
