Freezing Hudl

Hi I am struggling with my new Hudl: it freezes regularly, especially if I am playing games. I only have 4 downloaded (all from Google play) 2 word games, pet saga + blitz. I do have AVG for tablets. Other than this I only browse, Facebook + email.
Plus I know I need to alter settings to improve battery life but can't find the settings widget + set up is no help.

Unfortunately it may well be the games that are the problem as lots of apps work on some tablets/phones but not others.

You need to uninstall your games AND any apps that you have downloaded.

Then when on press the reset button on the back - restart the tablet and use the tablet without re- installing any of the apps.

If it works without freezing then the problem is with one of the items you downloaded.

Install 1 app/game at a time, and use it for a few days - if it does not freeze then put another app/game on.

That way when it does freeze you may have found the culprit.

I agree with aerostar.
My hudl has only frozen once and that was immediately after I had downloaded an app.

Thanks both of u, will follow your advice, but I still don't know where to find the settings button (blushing) :embarasse:

Not sure WHAT settings you want to change (be careful) but you have a settings icon (Button) from the front screen available - put your finger on the top of the screen about an inch or so to the right of the camera and slide your finger down, you will get a drop down menu - on which has settings, if you get a drop down menu with a clock time and date on it - you need to move your finger a bit further to the right and try again.

Alternative tap the circle with the 6 white dots if settings is not on the first page slide you finger from right to left to get the next page(s) - you should have a settings icon(button) on one of them - blue square - blackish background and 3 little blue streaks like tadpoles !

Thanks Aerostar. So I got rid of everything & am trying again. But it seems that EVERYTHING I download causes problems with freezing. I am SO disappointed. Thought the Hudl would be fun, instead its unstable & tedious to use cos of constant problems. Yet it has such great reviews I feel it must be me, depressing, cos I'm not a tech virgin. But I can honestly say it is nowhere as good to use as my phone

Under what grounds? "Not fit for purpose"? But I feel so stupid, everyone else can use them

It could just be a rogue app that's causing it. Try a factory reset.

Factory reset done and still the problem .
So its either the app the user or a problem .
