Well done on your continuing progress, it's good to see those balances decreasing
I think that it's a wise move to throw any extra £ at the 0%CC that finishes in April :T
Are you optimistic about clearing that by the time the 0% ends?
I've just remembered that we get 2 months break in council tax payments Feb & March (but coming from Jan & Feb pay IYSWIM) as we pay over 10 months rather than 12.
Bonus! (especially as it's my DD's 18th birthday next month! :happyhear)

HI
Thanks Jackie for the message.:A
I haven't updated my diary much as I've been on the Pay your debts off thread, so didn't spot your reply.
Yes I get a two month council tax break which is great :jand with my very frugal living (I'm making a lot of meals with rice, veg, eggs and chicken!!) I think I should be able to pay £900 off my credit card in February and the same in March which leaves £290 in April.:D It is very close to the mark and I have to make sure the payment clears before 5 April, but might just get there. Hope your DD has a lovely birthday - one of my sons is 18 this year.Blitz that mortgage

Pay day yesterday - yippee!!!! Although my pay was £200 short because my boss forget to put in a payment for the extra hours I did in December. Will have to wait until the end of February now.
Still managing to keep on target to pay my hefty credit card though before the 0% runs out. The balance stands today at £1,500 - after paying off £590 today. I also plan to pay another £300 off mid month.:D
I am being soooo frugal - no meals out, no buying food or drink at work. I went on a trip for work on Monday and took coffee in a flask, sandwiches and fruit, whilst everyone else moaned about having to buy food I spent nothing at all.:)
I rarely get into my diary now as I have been working 45-50 hours a week since Christmas, so will just continue to drop in now and again.
I have definitely got the debt busting bug.:j
Good luck to everyone else - I browse others diaries in my lunch break on my phone.:)Blitz that mortgage

Just spotted your post as I went to make some celery soup for lunch. Thanks for subscribing - you're very kind.
I find growing my own food definitely helps - I've only spent £7.00 on seeds for this year (my eldest son has bought my seed potatoes and onion sets for my birthday) and I've been developing my own compost so only fertiliser to buy. My dad also supplements my vegetables as he grows loads - good old dad!
Have a lovely day.:)Blitz that mortgage

Having a well earned day off work - I've worked 95 hours in 9 working days, so thought I'd catch up on MSE threads.
I have paid another £300 off my credit card and now need to find another £1,200 by 3 April (I thought I had until the 5th but checked this morning and it runs out on the 3rd. I get paid on the 31 March so hopefully the last payment will clear in time.)
I am however on target to pay £900 in March and £300 on 31 March. I am owed £150 in expenses and for working extra hours in December - my boss forgot to pay me so have to wait until the end of Feb - hope she remembers!!
My windowsill herb garden is doing well, so in another few weeks I won't need to buy parsley, chives or basil. I have had to start buying veggies in my weekly shop though as both my dad and I have run out of last year's. As soon as we get to March I will sow some seeds and keep them indoors until April when hopefully the chance of frost will have gone.:D
Have a lovely day anyone who is reading.:beer:Blitz that mortgage

Hello
I'm growing staple foods so potatoes, spring onions, onions, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, green beans and some herbs. I grow them in tubs and bags as my garden has very shallow soil. My dad grows everything so once his crops get in full swing I don't buy any vegetables at all for months.
Growing is my relaxation after work - outside in the garden with a cup of coffee after work does it for me.:D
My hours can be high, but I try to keep fit and healthy and tend to be OK with them. For me not having a partner is a real positive at the moment, which might sound awful, but I only have myself and the kids to please and we are very relaxed together at home and we all get on very well.sweetpea26 wrote: »Hi there

Just a brief post. A small payment has gone out today for one of my loans (£28.02) bringing my total paid out of my target to £2,766.39 out of the £12,600 I want to clear this year.:D
Terrible gales here - I've had to tie things down in the garden and lie my wheelie bins on the floor on their sides. The fences look like they are going to cave in this time - hope they hold so I don't end up paying out for repairs or materials.
Hope those experiencing bad weather are OK.Blitz that mortgage
