  • I would give it in lots of different ways is
£10 in 1 and 2p's in a box, pound coins inside balloons he has to pop, £5 in crackers, £5 wrapped around a mars bar then wrapped, you can buy tissues that look like money (cash) wrap them but slip in a real note, treasure hunt, one of those individual Christmas puddings with lots of £1 hidden inside (make sure he doesn't eat them!)

  • There is another thread on those "pots of gold" things that people make, although you could put the real money and chocolate coins on top.

It is a lot of money to trust a 13 year old lad with. You should probably help him put it in bank until he's ready to buy the parts.

Someone on here posted a picture of a money hamper which looked really good, it had chocolate money in as well as the cash and looked really good.
My 2 eldest just want money but I will also get them some cheap practical presents to open on the day - socks, boxer shorts, deodorant, chocolate.
Gone are the days when I would buy all sorts of novelty presents that wouldn't even be opened.:o

    Just found it

  • Home Bargains have hollow baubles made of tin and decorated in seasonal colours, these are the sort that twist apart into two halves, they also have ribbon hangers on them. These can be filled with notes and hung on the tree. They cost 39p each.

I gave my teenage DD the cash she asked for one year. I bought a set of 6 nesting boxes and put the cash folded up into the innermost one then nested them back up and wrapped it. She had fun going through box after box to find treasure in the middle!

Russian dolls would also work for girls.

I bought two of those baubles for precisely that reason. Was about to suggest them , but you beat me to it :rotfl:

If you want to make it last longer then a treasure hunt with each find giving a new clue.

  • i made a diorama for my sister and put her money in it. She was going to China. I brought a box and then built a scene in to it -light up cherry blossoms, a mouse in chinese dress (she loves mice) it was beautiful. I turned the lights on on xmas eve and wrapped it so it was lit up when she opened it. photo.php?fbid=10150463156438583&set=a.10150463154593583.360085.581948582&type=3&theater

I like the look of these:

They are a digital download costing £3.80 on etsy - for all 6, good value I think.

Why not give him a wallet, with money in it?
