Hi all,
We are having a big family get together this year for Christmas and we normally love a good board game in the evening. Previous favourites are Articulate, Taboo and Smart !!!, however this year my Spanish auntie is joining us and so she may find these difficult to grasp. She can speak very good English but I think she would struggle with our normal choices.
Can any of you lovely people therefore suggest any games that may be suitable and would not be impeded too much by a language barrier? We prefer team games and would rather steer clear of Monopoly, Cluedo, Scrabble etc! We are also not that keen on Charades - we tried and failed miserably! There will be 10-14 of us although perhaps not all will play at the same time, and ages range between 18-72.
Thanks in advance! :-)

rapidough is good fun and the language barrier shouldn't be too much of a problem0

Pictionary is the game that first sprung to mind for me. We tend to play it most Christmases, its great fun, and you can even play in large teams if everyone is desperate to play at once!0

I've always liked Mike Reid's Pop Quiz.0

Last year we played the LOGO game, definitely worth considering as most of the logos would be fairly universal.0

Thank you for the replies so far - I saw the LOGO game in the shop and it caught my eye so I'll look into that one, and I think we already have Pictionary lurking somewhere!
If anyone else has any other suggestions they'll be greatly received0 -
Family Fortunes. We have played this the last couple of years as a family and its always a hit.0

How about a photo scavenger hunt it can have teams of any number and they have to take pictures of certain things either around the house or in the local community such as a yellow car.
Of course this depends on the levels of mobility in the group but perhaps this could be adapted with people who have mobility issues can be the captains and stay home and keep score?
Not the best idea but perhaps something to think about?:jProud to have dealt with my debt, DFD 6th May 2015 :j
Part of the SPC challenge - #168 joee - My lovely gold stars from Sue-UU :staradmin x6 - BANKED £9.07

I love creationary, anyone can play it, really simple rules but always has us in fits of laughter. You basically just pick a card and whatever is on the card, you have to build it out of lego.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0

Another vote for LOGO, really good fun & all ages and abilities can play it. Went down really well last year. We also enjoyed Pass The Pud which is fun & not as formal as many traditional games. And Christmassy!0

Def agree with votes for Logo game as even my 84 yo MIL loved it and joined in. Also consider Deal or No Deal that was good fun but sadly no real money!!0
