Nice prize, though I personally feel shouldnt be on MSE, as we are meant to be SAVING money right?

This will incur a cost, for anyone..

People who have already made a purchase can get up to £10,000 back in cash so no cost to them as a result of entering just a cool £10,000 back.
If you have already activated a purchase through RAC Cars or during the promotion period you will still be eligible and the RAC will reimburse you with a cheque up to £10,000

The winner would be saving money, just covering insurance on a £10,000 car costs £10,000 less than buying the car as well would - in many ways no different to posts in other sections of the forum which involve spending money just less of it (like boots 70% off sales etc), although the savings here are vastly larger.

not if you change from a really old car like mine for a 10,000 eco friendly car with cheaper tax and insurance and save on petrol... :)

  • My old car is seriously on its last legs and every day I'm waiting for something to go wrong which will be the end of it - too battered to sell and no cash to buy another or get it fixed. Would be happy even with £2k for a car.....shame we can't split the winning between 5 of us...5 cars for 5 MSE forum members :-)
Won so far in 2017: ipad mini :j
  • anybody know who the winner was??

To support Trading Standards Institute and Citizens Advice Bureau's Used Car Campaign last November RAC Cars ran a promotion where one lucky winner had the chance to win up to £10,000 towards buying a car this winter.
From the literally millions of entries made, we have selected our lucky winner and it was my pleasure to make the phone call earlier today to congratulate them.
We will be announcing details of our lucky winner when they have chosen their new car.
