marialionza - was going to suggest you may be able to 'buy' the car for someone else however T&Cs also state: All entrants must hold a valid UK driving licence

You have to buy a car. However you can then sell it to get hold of the cash

True but you still need a driving license to enter.
Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change

Doesn't say it has to be a full driving licence.
    Would a provisional licence do ? ;)
Expect them to revise this little bit of slack anytime soon.

Hi, if you are not able to drive due to illness disability (as mentioned by MariaLionza) I would expect a company would be obliged to make "reasonable adjustments" to their products and services (in this case the comp) under the Disability Discimination Act. You could remind them of this.

Requiring a driving licence does discriminate against a lot people with a disability who are not physically able or not legally allowed to drive - still need to get about!
  • Just entered, good luck everyone.
  • Would the £10k include insurance?

No insurance. It would be a bit difficult to fund such a prize as the cost is so variable given each entrants circumstances eg age, driving history.

    terms state:

The Winner will receive up to £10,000 (ten thousand pounds) off the price of a vehicle of their choice chosen on www.raccars.co.uk. From date of notification the Winner will have up to 30 days to choose a car on www.raccars.co.uk. RAC Cars will pay the dealer directly up to £10,000. If the value of the car purchased is less than £10,000 RAC Cars will not pay the difference to the Winner. If you have already activated a purchase through RAC Cars or during the promotion period you will still be eligible and the RAC will reimburse you with a cheque up to £10,000 subject to you providing proof of purchase verified by Vehicle Registration Number and Dealer invoice.
  • Nice prize, though I personally feel shouldnt be on MSE, as we are meant to be SAVING money right?

This will incur a cost, for anyone..

Lots of comps on here incur a cost to the winner but are OK to be posted:D

I have won holidays to Vancouver & NY.On both I had to pay to get to the airports involved, pay to park & then pay for food etc.Surely that is a cost.

I won a VIP trip to Top Gear Live & had to pay to travel to London & pay to park etc.Surely that is a cost.

I have won a weekend in a five star hotel in London that I have yet to take but again I will have to pay for travel.Surely that is a cost.

You do seem very hung up on insurance costs.Maybe just get day insurance then sell the prize ?
