terms

1. The Promotion is not open to employees (or family members of employees) of the Promoter, its agencies, its group companies or anyone else connected with the Promotion.
2. By entering you are allowing "The Promoter" to contact you in regard to RAC products and services.
3. The Promotion is only available to United Kingdom residents aged 17 and over. All entrants must hold a valid UK driving licence.
4. To enter you will need to register or have already registered at www.raccars.co.uk. All registrations must be completed with a valid phone number and email address. All individual vehicle detail pages viewed by logged in, registered users during the promotion period will be entered into the prize draw. Each individual vehicle detail page viewed is one entry to the prize draw. Multiple vehicle detail pages viewed by logged in users are acceptable and will be multiple entries for the logged in user.

1. This Promotion starts at 00.01am on Monday, 04 November 2013. The closing date and time of the Promotion is 11:59pm on Friday, 31 January 2014 ("the Closing Date"). Entries received after the closing date will not be processed.
2. The Winner will be randomly selected on Monday, 03 February 2014 from all the entries submitted during the promotion period ("the Winner").
3. There shall only be one Winner.
4. The Winner will receive up to £10,000 (ten thousand pounds) off the price of a vehicle of their choice chosen on www.raccars.co.uk. From date of notification the Winner will have up to 30 days to choose a car on www.raccars.co.uk. RAC Cars will pay the dealer directly up to £10,000. If the value of the car purchased is less than £10,000 RAC Cars will not pay the difference to the Winner. If you have already activated a purchase through RAC Cars or during the promotion period you will still be eligible and the RAC will reimburse you with a cheque up to £10,000 subject to you providing proof of purchase verified by Vehicle Registration Number and Dealer invoice.

Hi,you are not tied to picking the actual car until you have won.In the meantime entries are gained just by looking at different cars.
There is not a cash alternative.
From the terms:

Sorry,I misunderstood.

I see the rules as you must pick a car that is on the site at the time that you are notified that you are the winner.

The promotor will then give the dealer £10k towards that car.Any shortfall to be made up by the winner & any surplus to be kept by the promotor.

So my understanding is, that I can pick it but not buy it so as can get the money all the same...Cool! (If I win...of course...)
I'm epileptic and there is no way on Earth I will ever get a license to drive...nor that I care for one.
All the same thanks again for your help and I hope a good MSEer wins it, it'll be such a helping for Christmas and beyond...

No - they will give the dealer upto £10,000 for you to purchase a car

If the car costs £10,995 -- you have to pay the extra £995
If the car costs £8995 then you get the car and no cash
If you do not wish to purchase a car then you get nothing.

The only way you can get £10,000 cheque is if you have already purchased a car during the promotion and can show proof (by an invoice) of such purchase

How do we 'register' that we have viewed a car? Is it tracked by cookies? If so will deleting my cookies before it ends remove my entries? Sorry if that's a really stupid question - puter brain non-existent.

I just click the ADD TO SHORTLIST button then open the VIEW DETAILS in a seperate tab ... that way all the cars you view are also in your shortlist
