Help, I've superglued a mug to the kitchen worktop.

You can use warm acetone, it will slowly strip the glue in layers though so be patient, especially as it might take a while to get it under the mug.0

this also brought a smile to my face but this bit did not......You can use warm acetone, it will slowly strip the glue in layers though so be patient, especially as it might take a while to get it under the mug.
are you actually saying warm acetone up???
im sure acetone is highly flammable and i believe the gas released is explosive0 -
Always glad to brighten up people's day.
The particularly annoying bit is that said superglue (poundland special) has previously failed to work on things I was intentionally trying to stick together. Clearly a new format that only sticks things you don't want stuck.
I suppose I'd better go and check that the slipper I was trying to glue is not now stuck to the iron I was pressing it down with.
Edit - I'm particularly taken with the plant pot idea. If all else fails that could be plan B.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
'Removing Super Glue from Counters and Surfaces
Acetone dissolves Super Glue on counters and surfaces, but expect it may harm varnish on wood, will 'cloud' some plastics, and may discolor some materials. Try to pry or scrape off the adhesive, using acetone as a last resort' from this page:

My DH glued a tube of glue to the worksurface about 4 months after the kitchen was fitted. I've had a blob there now for several years
. Just got used to it in the end. (I made DH remove the tube of glue which he did by pulling with all his might!)

Of course you can warm up acetone, it is regularly warmed up to dissolve various things, including the glue on false nails. Do you genuinely believe warming up and setting something on fire is the same thing, quite concerning if that is the case.0 -
