  • Road traffic law almost always refers to a road , or any other road to which the public has access , this will include a wide range of meanings.

however , if a location has an exclusion on private land , and one of those ways is a charge, then it is exempt from the RTA (road traffic act)

as such no laws to applicable to construction and use (registration plates) or displaying a valid VEL (vehicle excise licence) apply

as such if you want to take your number plate off, you can
if you want to remove your VEL from your car, you can

just like you could on your drive at home, and no one can enter your property or land without a lawful reason, like a magistrates warrant

it's a deliciously wonderful bit of mischievous thinking , the yellow coated person has no power whatsoever to interfere or alter the with the car, no power to exclude , how would that work ? threaten to clamp/tow away

    no! not going to happen

    little story

I was clamped once , all I did was remove the wheel , put the spare on and hand the wheel with clamp to the local police as *found property*

    no damage , no theft

    went unclaimed

and under found property act , it was mine!

Usually it does, but not always.

Not always. A toll road or a car park which charges for entry is likely to be a public place, as anyone can use it if they pay their two pounds. In any event, registration plates have nothing to do with the Road Traffic Act.
as such no laws to applicable to construction and use (registration plates) or displaying a valid VEL (vehicle excise licence) apply
Registration plates also have nothing to do with construction and use regulations.
as such if you want to take your number plate off, you can
For the actual law see the link in post 20. Please point out where it says anything about only applying on a road (or other public place).

I like that story! Everyone should have fought back against the clamper knuckleheads like that, before they were adjudged to be the crims they always were.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
