I've had two buyers recently not change the address at checkout and gave an old address. I've dealing with one INR at the moment who have me an incorrect postcode.
So yes, it's perfectly reasonable to check the information you've been given is correct. Had I not checked, I'd have sent replacements to the wrong address.0

Maybe for a brand new buyer, but seriously, we have threads on here who suggest every single buyer is asked to check their address. My buying account shows a dozen or more purchases a week and feedback well over 1000, did the seller honestly believe I had suddenly run amok and changed my address to a dodgy one?
Well you could have moved house and forgot to change the address.
Perhaps for a business seller who sells a lot they don't have time to check all your feedback, they just send the same message to everyone.
Maybe they figured there could possibly be some sort of glitch and it showed the wrong address (or hadn't shown the whole address).
It could be that they like to confirm they're messaging the right person and not some hacked account who'll give a different address, or just to confirm they're looking for the right parcel.
For a (fairly) new seller or someone who hasn't had that issue before it could be that they've been advised to ask the buyer for their address to confirm things.
There's also a lot of stupid buyers and a lot of stupid sellers.
In my opinion there's no harm in a seller just asking, whatever their reasons. It's nothing personal, it doesn't mean they're trying to insult you, but it does mean that at least they've bothered to contact you. It may not be how you do things, but it shows to me that they may be willing to try and help you get the item that you want and paid for.0

Ive had loads of buyers with high feedback and an incorrect address. Ok, its mainly postcode - but still wrong. Not even right part of country sometimes. eg LS1 5EN - they put L1 5EN - 70 miles apart.
And their response 9 / 10 times "it always gets here". Hardly the point.
As for how long to allow to arrive, 10-14 days after posting is long enough. And as i buyer - i would never chase up at the sorting office if i have not got a card. They NEVER answer phone - and you get a parking ticket if you dare park outside.
And ask the neighbours if they have my post? Thats like accusing them.0

Wow, thanks everyone for all the replies.
I should clarify I rang the post office and they gave me the number for royal mail sorting office (general number), they wouldn't give me the number for my local sorting office and they're the ones who said it would either be delivered or not and that the sorting office have hundreds or parcels and wouldn't have time to look for it.
So in short, I paid on 7th November, seller posted on 11th November.
I had it posted to work, who have 24 hour post room and I've checked with them (extremely reliable) and they have nothing.
I will contact the seller today and ask for a refund. I do think that 2 weeks for 1st class post - it's unlikely to now turn up.
Thanks everyone so much for all the comments.
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here! 0 0
