  • try the above, i sold two phones easily and got paid promptly
  • I haven't sold on Ebay for a while but I'm pretty sure there was/is some sort of setting/filter for preventing people with low feedback ratings or problem buyers from bidding on your items? I would say that from experience the vast majority of Ebay buyers are perfectly honest and reasonable people and you would have to be pretty unlucky to be targeted by one of the few bad eggs on there.

You could alo try CPW - i.e. take it into one of their stores. That way you get the money up front, no hassle with sending it off or risks of scams, but it depends how risky/greedy you are.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

So many of these "mobile phone recyclers" are trying it on now with their "small scratches, charger port is damaged, etc etc" its pot luck getting the price you were quoted on their websites.
Then you could go to ebay and thats a whole new ball game of people trying to rip you off like I had a crook who tried to rip me off buying my samsung galaxy S4..said it wasnt working and sent me back a cardboard picture of a samsung s4...
Only by reporting him to ebay and the internet crime people did I get my money so good luck with selling your phone

Makes you wonder if anybody has ever gotten the quoted price for a mobile phone from one of those recycling websites?

Quote high to appear high on comparisons, then make up excuses to reduce the price. I wonder if they would try that trick on a brand new mobile which has never been outside it's box?
  • i just got £151 from iPhone Recycling for a unlocked 4s paid into the bank same day as they received the phone..

Thanks for this, I may try them once I get my phone back from the shysters who currently have it. According to the site you mention, even a faulty phone - which it seems mine might be - I would be paid £75, which is more than twice offered by mobilephone exchange.
  • Apple do their own recycling. I don't think they pay top prices but I'm sure it would be more than you have been offered already. http://www.apple.com/uk/recycling/computer/

Well, I've received phone back, minus the sim card, which I know I had inadvertently left in the phone.....

The phone when turned on is still showing that 'find my iphone' is enabled and because there is no internet service to the phone, I am unable to disable it on the phone - it also shows my email address, which I can't delete.

As for mobilephonexchange saying there are scratches on the phone, two of my colleagues looked at it today and they didn't see any at all.

Any suggestions are welcome as now I'm not sure I can even get anything for the phone as I'm worried these things will make it unsellable......:(

Thanks for all the help so far, it's much appreciated.
