Selling an iphone 4s

Options
I've just upgraded to an iphone 5 so want to sell my iphone 4s.

I'll try to keep it brief but sent the 4s to mobile phonexhange and was offered via email £33.00. The email said the phone is still locked to icloud, however, I have emails from Apple (or icloud) stating it has been disabled.

Called Mobile phonexchange just now as I've not received the money the email stated would be paid last week and they are telling me that the money hasn't been paid as it's still locked, even though I offered to forward the email saying it's been disabled. I've asked them to send my phone back and I need to try to sell it elsewhere.

Does anyone think I may have more problems doing this? There is obviously no internet service on the phone and there is apparently some small cracks on the phone which I couldn't see and the photo is too blurred to make out if there really are any.

Really not impressed with mobile phoneexchange so looking to try another company. Recommendations would be most welcome, thank you.

You only got £33 for a 4s? Wow!

A high street modern-day pawnbrokers - identical to Cash Converters, however their business model is to purchase low and sell high.

So many of these "mobile phone recyclers" are trying it on now with their "small scratches, charger port is damaged, etc etc" its pot luck getting the price you were quoted on their websites.
Then you could go to ebay and thats a whole new ball game of people trying to rip you off like I had a crook who tried to rip me off buying my samsung galaxy S4..said it wasnt working and sent me back a cardboard picture of a samsung s4...
Only by reporting him to ebay and the internet crime people did I get my money so good luck with selling your phone

I've sold all my phones (10+) with no issues on eBay. I spot the ones that are usually bearing the hallmarks of trouble and avoid. It would be folly to tar all purchasers with the same brush.

So, any recommendations of where I might get a more acceptable price for this phone? I've told mobilephoneexchange to send my phone back.

As far as I'm aware, there are no scratches or damage, at least none that I can see to the naked eye, just the usual wear & tear from 18 months use. The 'find my iphone' is disabled unless my icloud login to tell me is lying, which I doubt.

I just want to get a reasonable amount of money for it with the minimum amount of hassle, is this possible?

Another one here - I've sold all my old phones on eBay with no problems and bought all my new ones on there too. The only problem I've had is someone sending me a bricked phone, but eBay refunded me for that one without any fuss.
