Default Arrow??

Hi guys!

I have decided to look and see how my credit report is looking as I have been great and "in check" for a good few years now and even been accepted for 2 credit cards.

I logged in to Equifax, Experian and Noodle-Call credit.

Call Credit concerned me.

I have a recent default from Arrow. No idea who they are!!! Never received any correspondance from them-nothing-not a pip squeak!!

My hunch is its an old debt, most definately statued barred.

I have not rung them yet as I wanted to get some advice from you guys!

How should I go about this do you think?

Thank you so much in advance!
:)

    Arrow Global I presume?

They have a track record of recording false default dates on old debts.

A formal complaint is the way to go, but Arrow will normally reject any complaint. Once they have done that, then you progress the complaint to the FOS and ICO.

No template as such, as each case is different.

General info of filing defaults is here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3172602

But basically defaults must be genuine and the date accurate. If they are not then it is a breach of the Data Protection Act to record inaccurate information on your credit file.

A recent default for an old or statute barred debt is GROSSLY inaccurate, and a clear breach.

  • Ok... bit of an update and more advice needed please guys!!

I have looked into this further and can see on my Call Credit account that it shows the default was 1/09/2008.

The account was for 02/12/2007 so stat barred in 2 weeks!

It shows the I have defaulted every month from Nov 2010 to the present month!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not even had any correspondence with these jerks!

I called them up to get an account number which I retrieved. They told me that it is now with Rosendales! What do I do now?

    Help please??

    Thank you in advance!

    What is the debt for?

    Is it yours?

I'd ignore them for two weeks, if they write again after then hit them with the SB letter if you're sure its SB and its your debt.
  • I have no idea if it is mine or not, as bad as it sounds it could be.

They have not got in contact with me, I got in contact with them due to the default....so am looking how to go about removing the default but how if its with another party.

    So confused?

    Hi RachelW

    Welcome to the forum.

First thing to stress for now is that you make no written contact with them until advised otherwise. As GH states above, and you also acknowledge yourself, the debt could become statute barred very soon, which would make some of the other issues moot. In the meantime you need to be wary of doing anything which might inadvertently constitute a written acknowledgement of the debt.

If you have reason to believe the debt is not even yours then that will obviously need to be rectified. I take it there's been no written correspondence from Arrow thus far? At least not to your current address? Have you moved around in the past 6 years?

    Regards

  • Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your reply. I think it probably is mine. What I gather, it is an old phone bill. Back in my reckless days I was awful with these.

I have received no written correspondence from Arrow thus far. At least not to my current address. I have moved around in the last 6 years(settled now thank goodness!). The address they had on my Call Credit file is an old address.....

    Thank you :)

    Hi again Rachel

OK, let's rule out the mistaken identity angle then. The next question concerns these multiple "defaults" you refer to as showing on your credit file for this account from Nov 2010 onwards.

You stated earlier on that the default date for this account is shown as 01/09/2008. Assuming that this is the default notice for the account, no subsequent late payment markers should be shown. The only further info that could be entered on the account post-default would be the obtaining of a CCJ (which has not happened so far as I can tell). So, these entries you refer to from Nov 2010 onwards do need to be challenged, but I would wait until you are confident that the account is statute barred before doing so.

    Hope that makes sense!

    Dennis
