They reimburse some of them but due to zero hours contract - there is no way in determining an income if you get me.

Mileage incurred by you in the course of your employment is an allowable expense. If your employer doesn't reimburse you at 45p per mile, the shortfall can be claimed in tax relief.

Sorry that was £40 a week. haha.
    So....
    Rent: £450
    Council T: £106
    Fuel £250
    Leccy: £40
    Water £30
    TV:13
    Car I (combined): £100
    Logs: £50
    Internet and Phone: £30
    Mobile Phones: £50ish
    Credit Card: £50

gifts and clothes are as and when needed. I think that is all our bills. And these are our monthly bills.

This is why you need the MSE budget planner - according to this list, you never have a haircut or go out for a pint or have a takeaway.... what about car repairs, car tax etc? The DFW board is the best place to have your budget constructively picked apart.

According to the Turn2us benefit calculator, are you due any tax credits, council tax benefits or HB when the child is born?

So that comes to £1329 which would leave you with about £300 spare at the moment (considering fuel is 400 atm). So where do they go? Agree with the last post. It would probably be a good idea to keep a record of your cash/card spending for a month things like haircuts, pub, take aways etc. And see if you could use some of this money to pay off the credit card and save.

Once you're on reduced income (£1400) it looks tight. But you won't need logs in summer and you could definitely save on the mobiles if you can get out of the contract. Hopefully you'll have paid the CC off too. So that plus any benefits you should get should work out ok, no?
    03/26: OD £1200 600 500, CC £3914 3317, family £3100, loan £5618 5306 5036- total: £13832 12323 12003, mortgage £58,243 £57,766 57114

Similar thing happened to me when I had my second child. I started working for them in the May and fell pregnant in the June so I wasn't entitled to the generous maternity package and was on SMP (which I think is the same amount as MA) I worked right up to 40 weeks and went back when baby was 16 weeks old. Not ideal but necessary. That baby is nearly 9 now and although it was hard you manage.

Wishing you well with the pregnancy and birth. xx

The specific point of this forum is for people to ask about their benefit entitlements, that's why it is here.

The specific forum etiquette is that posts should not be judgemental and should be restricted to answering specific benefit entitlement questions.

Your type of response is best suited to the Discussion Time forum which happily discusses benefit policies and is a fantastically critical forum for all manner of judgements.

I am currently on MAT leave with our first baby. My husband suffers from an illness and so is unable to work so we are on a low income. Once baby was born, I rang the tax credits and gave them our income details for this year as it has gone down considerably. They awarded us £30 a week child tax credits and our income is more than yours. Use the benefits calculater to have a look but you will have to put that baby is already here or it wont calculate anything.Look at the sure start grant too as we were able to claim the £500. I think its also sure start who do milk and fruit and veg tokens if your income is under £15,000 so have a look at their website.
