Nail Gel and UV drying machine

My OH wants a UV nail drying machine and gel for xmas and i have looked online but it seems a bit of a minefield ie similar looking machines that are £15 on e bay are £125 on other sites (nsinails) so wondered if any of the kind ladies on here have experience of these machines and where to buy gel,would be kind enough to share some advice.

I have no experience of gel nails, but QVC have a TSV today until midnight or earlier if it sells out.

The great thing with QVC is that you have a 30 day money guarantee (less postage costs) even if you've tried it. If it is a Christmas gift, you have until 25th January to return it to them if not happy.

H, I have a uv gel nail lamp, a 36 watt one, I bought it as part of a kit from a seller called discount nails on ebay, the kit I bought came with 6 shellac nail colours, and some wipes and gel nail remover , top coat and base coat, it was around £68 delivered, Its great, I use it regularly as does my daughter. Their customer service was good too as the first lamp they sent me didnt work and they sent me a replacement one straight away, with no hassle. They also sell outside of ebay, think it is https://www.discountnails.co.uk. I have since bought some more shellac nail colours at £5.49 from them and more finishing wipes, I personally use a uv gel nail remover from Superdrug which I prefer to the one they supplied.

I'm sure there are lots of other sellers but it is good to shop around, the smaller size lamps do not work as well and I think that the price of the uv gel polish varies too. I have tried a couple of other makes of uv gel polish from other sellers that are not a good as shellac but the same price, again it is personal choice really. Good luck

I have the sensationail kit - £69 from boots.

Its great and I've used it every 3 weeks or so since last xmas,its comes with everything you need. I've added to the kit with Gelish polish etc from ebay.

I have the red carpet manicure kit from QVC and I love it! I get bored of the colour before it chips, it takes around 2-3 weeks to show signs of wear. I think the kit is great, you just have to bear in mind the polishes cost more.

Iv got the sensationail one and it's fab i love it mine last 12 day but only because my nails grow fast and I think well iv got the stuff I may aswell do them now lol

Dd got one off e bay , wasn't too expensive . She got the gels from there too . They worked ok . You can get really expensive driers and gels . Depends if you want to pay loads and it'll get good use or if it's just something to have a bit of try of now and again . Glad we didn't pay a lot as it hasn't been used that much after the novelty wore off . Got bored of the colour after a week too .

I also have sensationail and I love it!

But I also have a UV lamp which I got for £13 on amazon.

I buy all my gel colours - including top and base coat from ebay. I use bluesky which in my opinion is fab.
