  • Fair point they have already been contacted by myself numerous times (10?!) and refused on all so I will go straight to letter of action, I do have a 3 page letter of action ready, happy to share if anyone needs it now or in the future. Again, not worried about costs it's principles here and the fact they treated me so poorly and rude.

    However, I do not want to end up looking silly! If trading standards have told me I am in the right and do not have to prove there was a fault in the first 6 months, is this gospel? I assume so considering that's who carphone warehouse told me to go to, in a recorded call.

    If I win then I will probably register a domain containing carphone warehouse & warranty keywords to try and help others.

    IMO, Trading Standards are teethless and useless. Even if they are right, they will never intervene or take any actions to back their words and to help you. So, you have to know the facts, not the TS's words. Start with MSE articleConsumer Rights Armour, then google for more information.

    Both SoGA and SoGaSA do say about 6 months, but CPW's 'interpretation' is deliberately incorrect to confuse/mislead the customers.

    In fact CPW's obligations are absolutely unrelated to any warranty.
