Up until now (so for months and months) the jobs have all had high numbers of applications. I doubt one day loads of people suddenly got jobs in every single area and just stopped applying. Judging by the other job sites there is still the same amount of people at this time applying for jobs.

It's better for me if there really is less competition, but I'm not convinced that's the case.
what other site tells you how many people have applied? Id love to see one.

CV Library is one. Well, it say 10+ but thats 9 more than applying on Reed.

As an example, near enough all the admin jobs over the two weeks within 15 miles say 10+ on CV Library. Similar jobs with the same search on Reed have 1 or 2. Now 10 may not be a lot but it shows that if more than 10 people are applying for all of them that there are people looking and you'd expect Reed jobs to be matching them in applications really.

No that all depends who is advertising and where.

I can say I only find say 1 job a week on CV Library and over 5 a day on Reed.

    Its all swings and roundabouts

Course where companies advertise makes a difference but it still doesn't explain such a massive drop in applications.

Companies are still advertising on there but its like one day people suddenly stopped applying for them on Reed.

If you have only CV Library as an example and that in turn only shows 10 or more that's says nothing as to why there are so you say less people applying for jobs on Reed.

Maybe email Reed online and find out?

Well that's all I wanted to know; if there was some reason for the dramatic drop in applications on that site that I didn't know about and it seems there isn't.

  • This is a strange one but you may come across a blocker when you try and apply or be forward to some in-house application process which has been taken down so might not count as an application.

Either this or reed are fudging their application numbers.

Sadly I agree it's too good to be true but I'd still apply just in case.

No the in house applications still count as an application on Reed as you get an email from Reed and I make a point on all jobs I apply for on Reed that when I hit re fresh the number has gone up 1

It is quite possibly a glitch, specially if it's not the same for other people in other areas. It does seem too good to be true but I will keep applying anyway. Just glad that there doesn't appear to have been any bad news about the site (such as it being hacked).

I always get an email too. Never refreshed to see if the number has gone up but I figured it was still counting it considering I got an email.
