in Water bills
I've been renting for the first time and my water bill is 380.98, it's a two bedroom semi detached house with two people living here. Does this amount seem right?

Not a clue.. We really need more information then that.
As that is just like saying " went shopping today for food and spent £xxx does that sound right " ?
Is the property on a meter ?
How is the bill made up : ie RV charges / meter/ assessed ?
If it is on a meter is in an actual reading ?
What is the consumption ?There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Welcome to the forum, as indicated above you are asking a 'How long is a piece of string' question!
In addition to the questions asked above, we would need to know the water company, as charges vary hugely across the UK.0 -
Over what period is the bill for, 6 months, a year?. How long have you been there.
£400 isn't all that bad if it's for a year and it includes sewerage and all standing charges although it does depend on how you are being charged, metered, assessed or on rateable value.
If you've got a meter did you read it when you moved in or are you getting billed for someone else's consumption as well because you didn't. Who is your water co, does it include sewerage as well.
Lots of questions but no one can give you any more ideas without answering themNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Yeah I'm pretty new to bills haha. I'm with northumbrian water and unmetered though I'm not sure what my consumption is but as there's two of us I'd say it's pretty average.
Edit: This bill was for six months0 -
These are your charges http://www.nwl.co.uk/your-home/your-account/tariffs-and-charges.aspx
For unmetered properties they have high standing charges, and you can calculate the rest of your bill by looking at your Rateable Value(RV) - shown on your bill.
A couple using an average amount of water(approx. 55 cubic metres per year each) of 110 cubic metres would pay approx £365 per year.0
