Just about to do some essential stuff in the office then a little housework, isnt too bad but needs some work to keep on top.

At lunchtime am off to pick up DD from Uni. Its a two hour drive  we will be coming back at peak time so no idea when I will get get home so being naughty and having fish and chips tonight.

Not so cold here today but very damp and miserable.

    Have a great day all.x
  • Morning all..

Happy Birthday Hester, hope you have a lovely day.

The weather is very windy, and bitterly cold here today, thankfully I've not got to go anywhere today, its day 3 of DS being of school poorly, the head cold has now moved on to his chest, along with ds coughing all night the dog had us up 5 times to go toilet, she drove me mad, hope she hasn't got a uti cos she never normally gets us up once nevermind 5 times in the space of few hours, I'll see how she is tonight, if no better she can go the vets tomorrow.

DH, hm cards, cake, fudge and a homemade decorative pen holder and book mark ds made for him went down a storm, we had a lovely family evening, DH was really suprised and so chuffed we had made such an effort, he even suggested that we both do home made birthdays in future.

Plans for today are a quick tidy round, make a start on the pantry, do 1 load of washing, I'm so tempted to put my christmas tree up, so might start doing that this afternoon, In the past I have been known to put it up earlier, I just hope the cat leaves it alone

Hm pizza, garlic bread and wedges for tea tonight, was meant to have it on Tues but DH didnt fancy it.

Hope you all have a lovely day xx

    Happy birthday Hester.

Dark cold and wet here in our corner of Kent.

Just made two gypsy tarts, seemingly only known to us Kentish folk, suffice to say pastry, evap milk and sugar! For girls night tonight they will go down well, and stay on the hips no doubt....

Hugs to the poorly ones and keep warm and well to all.

Xmas preps going well, my Aussie family arriving on Boxing Day, excited doesn't describe it!

    Morning,

Happy Birthday Hester:bdaycake:hope you have a lovely day,and lovely news about the twins.

Just had :coffee: after getting back in from walking the dog.Met my friend on the front field as usual but after our stroll round pup was acting daft so instead of going in I went to the fields at the bottom of our road where I can let her off and run a bit more energy off.She is getting her 2nd teeth and is very distracted.

I did all the ironing before we went out so that needs going away. Not sure whats for tea, will have a rummage in the freezer.Yesterday I got a tub of chilli out and we had chilli beef nachos.

Dil2b saw her midwife yesterday and she thinks she is ready & birth imminent :T.Mind you I've heard that before. Will speak to her shortly but there mustnt have been any twinges or DS wouldnt have gone to work with DH this morning.

    Well,have a good day everybody x

    Morning all,

    Happy Birthday Hester:beer:

A quiet day at home for me. Can still feel my tooth but hoping its just from her messing with it yesterday hopefully it will settle.

I've just pulled Thai Green Curry out of the freezer for the boys for tea either before or after football depending on when they get back.

I'm going to treat myself to a hot bath this morning. Probably won't be able to have a bath for a while once my leg has been operated on.

I enjoyed the Tudor farm again last night, I'm sure I was born in the wrong era although I'm sure it was tremendously hot work.

Baking has taken a back seat for me as I can't stand in the kitchen for any length of time. We are looking for one of the stools that tilt forward so I can perch while I'm baking.

Anyway enough waffle have a good day x

    Morning all,

Happy birthday Hester. I hope you have a lovely day.:bdaycake:Such good news about your Grandtwins. So pleased for you.

Not much to add from me today I think. Plenty of news but nothing I ought to share on a public forum (not yet anyway).

    Have a great day all,

  • Happy birthday Hester......

Late morning, we have been to Aldi, I needed new slippers and I also wanted to get a turkey crown for Christmas, now sitting safely in the freezer, cannot get much more in so better do some advance meal planning.

At last my mo jo seems to be returning, slowly, managed to sew 3 blocks for a quilt I am making, hope to do a couple more today.

It was bright and sunny when we got up, blue sky too but its clouding over now, looks like rain.

Need to get my btm into gear and sort out supper, I have some gammon slices so one of those baked in foil with a couple of tomatos on top, potato wedges and may be a fried egg each, I have a couple of eggs that need using up.

    Happy Birthday to Hester

    :bdaycake::bdaycake:

Have veg soup simmering with a small piece of gammon that I will cool and have tomorrow.

Cauli cheese for lunch and about to dish up and have diced beef with onions and mushrooms cooked and in fridge to use as base of puff pastry pies tonight with green beans. DD who won't eat beef can have a cheese and tomato tartlet with the pastry instead.

Managed to order (I hope ) two lots of perfume, posh nail varnishes and eye shadows and a very fancy men's aftershave as Christmas presents. At least I feel I have made a start on things.

Mr S should have an offer tomorrow on double points for voucher for Xmas stock so will investigate it and see if I can grab anything good to use the points I have.

Had very poor loaves recently from breadmaker and could not work out why. After trying everything I could think of - I eventually started to sift the flour before adding to BM - that was a few weeks ago and I kept going this and loaves are now back to the way they should be.:j:j

    Hugs to all
