DD disapeared from list on account?

I just noticed that our mortgage DD has disappeared from the list of DDs on our account. It usually comes out on 16th, and came out fine on 18th Nov (16th was a Sat so carried over).

Would this cause any problems for them collecting their money if its disappeared since their last payment?

If it's not there tomorrow, I'd check with the bank. Yes, it could cause problems with them collecting it.

If it is not on the list then it has probably been cancelled for some reason. Best contact your bank first to find out what has happened, luckily you have got over 3 weeks to try and get it sorted.

Hi Beckyy, was your bank B*rclays?

As our mortgage DD has also vanished, comes out on 16, this month out on 18th due to wkend.
Did live chat and they have said a 'glitch' in the system.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yes, the mortgage is with Woolwich (Barclays). Did they tell you to do anything to 'reinstate it'?

Yes Woolwich mortgage, and Barclays bank account.

All they said was that it 'would be reinstated, if no change then to ring customer service'.

I'm going to leave it until after the weekend, if still not showing on the on-line banking then I will call.

Thank you, I'll wait and see also. At least it's a while before next payments are due.

Have you asked the bank why it is no longer showing on your active DD list?

They should be able to advise why it is no longer there.

    e.g.
    1. They received notice from you to cancel it
    2. They received notice from the Woolwich to cancel it (if so, why? e.g. have the Woolwich said their previous collection was to be the last)
    3. The DD mandate fell dormant (unlikely - it takes at least 12 months without collection for this to happen)
    4. The bank don't know (i.e. their system is fubar'd again). Don't let them tell you they don't know unless they accept full responsibility for the removal.

Without this information, everyone is just guessing.
When you provide this information, then we can advise you accordingly (if the bank don't when you ask them)

    same for me.
Woolwich DD paid 18th then DD vanished. I went into a branch to check it out (1st time in years been in a branch but coincidentally had a cheque to deposit too).

CS in branch have more info on their screen and the missing DD had gone into the "expired" section...."are you sure you have not paid off your mortgage" she asked....well despite my sig, no, but I did ask her for written confirmation that my mortgage was paid off but she declined :(

she couldn't reinstate so I have left it for now, will ring them up nearer the next due date.
