iPhone iOS memory help

Basically I've had an iPhone for 5-6 years & hope to get an android next 12 months

But the iPhone 4 16gb memory is so full that I get warning pop ups

I think it's mainly music I legally download

I have other music on it via iTunes

But I've never really worked out how to use iTunes

Can someone help please:

- I want to get all my music onto my laptop so I can put it onto google cloud & sync with my nexus 7 tablet somehow?

- and can my music be put onto apple cloud? I activated cloud on my phone but can't figure out what to do next

Please help or point me into a clear dummy's guide because my phone is so slow & full I can't even upgrade apps etc
