£10,000 is a bit of an insult to you IMO. Don't do yourself out of money because it's the easiest option. I'm not saying start a war, but ensure you get your fair share of what you put into the partnership. You need enough to start a fresh yourself, which isn't cheap.

Whilst i applaud you for your thoughts OP, this is exactly the situation i was in when i divorced hubby number one. I only took what was mine and didnt ask for any of his pension, his inheritance, or any shared assets other than my share of the house. He had the car too, a relatively new BMW as i had a company car at that time. Enter wife number two, she racked up debts left right and centre, spent all his money and then told him she wanted a divorce. He moved out, into rented accommodation because she needed to live in the house with her child by a previous relationship, and he was left bankrupt, in a bedsit. Yep, you could say more fool him, but the point is, i played more than fair and so money i could have asked for half of was taken from me too. TAKE WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY YOURS.
