But there always has to be the mugs there for the wolves to fleece
after all, thats what the game is all about.
A lady I work with told me of her daughter and boyfriend paying nearly £1000 per month on a crippling interest only mortgage. The irony is you can rent the exact same property for £600 PCM in their block. It used to be more expensive to rent only in recent years has it become the opposite. She said they are thinking of selling up and renting as they now realise that owning isn't its all cracked up to be. I wonder how many others are finding that the housing ladder isn't as expected particuarly when your having to work double shifts and overtime to struggle to pay for it. I wish people would forget about "The economy" helping them out.
100 years ago it was all about the 'Haves' and the 'Have nots'.
Today it's about the 'Haves and the 'Have nots'.
100 years from now it will be about the 'Haves' and the 'Have nots'
Decide which you want to be.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -

Well said, wouldn't everyone love to live in a nice big house, with a nice big car in the drive (sounds like a Peter Gabriel lyric), but unless you win the lottery you won't get there by sitting on your a**e whining about it.
The one that gets me is when you see a documentary and you see the whiners and misfits banging on about how they've never got any money and during the whole interview they are chain smoking. Well there's a way to save money for a start.
This probably accounts for why I now watch very little TV anymore.
Play the game, stack the odds in your favour, dont get bit by the sharks and most of all dont whine when you roll the bones and they dont come up double six.0 -

What tripe!0 -
Which bit, or are you just offended by the whole post.
Is it the bit about the whiners who spend what they have on junk then complain they've got nothing, because i've certainly met some of them.
Is it the bit about not watching tv much because its mostly garbage.
Is it the bit about getting on with life, having a positive outlook and taking all opportunities when they crop up.
Or the bit about when life knocks you bcak dont cry about it, deal with it.0 -

What a jolly good idea, we were going to do that a few years back but I got made redundant instead so kinda put the mockers on that idea at the time.;)
Set up in business instead and not looked back since.:beer:0 -
I sometimes look on council websites at the planning pages, just to see what people are planning to do to their houses. I came across someone applying for planning permission to make a 2-bedroomed terraced house into a 6-bedroom multi occupancy property. Not surprisingly the owner occupier neighbours were up in arms against it and it was refused permission.0
