Sebu vacuum cleaner?

  • Hello lostinrates, I don't know anything about the d2 but I've just had a look on the John Lewis website and I want one. JL also have a five year guarantee. I've spoken to SEBO on the phone a couple of times and they have always been very helpful. I'm sure they could help regarding your floors and pet hair.

I have a Sebo upright vacuum cleaner, although heavy it is the best cleaner I've ever had. It is now ten years old and still going strong. The hose is easily long enough to do the stairs without having to move the cleaner at all. It copes without any fuss with carpet, stone flooring and lino. It does need bags but you can buy them quite reasonably online. I would buy another one if it broke without hesitation. I didn't realise an engineer would come to the house, thanks for that info!

Some months ago some one was highly rating their sebu vacuum cleaner.

I was wondering if that user or any other sebu vacuum cleaner user was about. I am considering a sebu air belt d2 purchase and wondered if any one had any experience with this model.

    Brilliant in every way!!!!:j:T:T

I bought the upright 4 model, and over 40 years I have had many cleaners, but would never have another sort now.

    Lin :)

The hose would do stairs without moving the machine? Really? ( edit...oh, upright, not cylinder:( )

This is sounding better and better.

Last laws thanks for the advice...I will ask DH to call sebo when I think I have narrowed it down further and we probably will buy through JL.

  • I have just given my sebo felix to a dd as it is not that suitable for my stone floors downstairs and it falls over when using the long hose. It is an upright vacuum cleaner with a detachable cylinder. I have replaced it with a miele cyclinder allergy vac. I have a sebo X4 upstairs and it is excellent on the jute carpets albeit very heavy, hence me having one up and one down. I cannot wash jute so use the sebo powder from time to time, the sebo does a brilliant job of sucking it all up. I have an extra long additional hose for the sebo X4 and also a turbo brush so I could reach the stairs easily

If you have carpets then get the sebo

H,m, carpets are on there way out eventually.....downstairs ATM we have carpets up to fifty ish years old  and concrete:o but will be having stone flag and very rustic floor boards not smooth new ones. So not level.

Sounds like you are saying sebo is NOT good for this type of 'historic' floor?
  • My mum has a sebo (I don't know what model) which is at least 15 years old. It's fantastic, and copes far better on carpets and hard floors and with dog hair than mine, I would happily swap it for mine. :)

yes that is right lostinrates, especially with an old bumpy floor. The miele came with a turbo head, which is great on rugs and carpets, as well as a head for wood floors and a head that does both wood or stone

This is the one I chose

For the stone floor, definitely not the sebo, this is why I gave my good sebo away. The fast rotating brush can scratch a smooth surface. The felix was better than the X4 on the smooth floors but I would never have used the X4 on it
Of course the X4 will clean a hard floor but you do have to be careful, any vac will suck up but only certain ones are really designed with hard floors in mind

    Ok thanks.

I have Miele cat and dogs with turbo heads, they are the best I have used but was sufficiently interested in sebo raves from here to be interested in considering one.

We only ever use the turbo head on floors, ever. :o
