Ladies smartwear...

Hello
I am seeking advice from all you working women out there who have to dress smart. I have bought some black straight leg trousers and some blouses / shirts / jumpers for work. But I am stuck on shoes. I'd rather wear flat because I cant walk in heels and I am quite tall anyway for a girl, but I don't know if its considered 'smart'??
I just want some comfy shoes that I can also use over winter so my basic black flat ballerina shoes won't cut it. (They are very flimsy
and obviously look dodge with socks on cos they expose most of your feet!
I was considering a pair like this : http://www.shoezone.com/Womens/All/Softlites-Womens-Comfort-Wedge-in-Black-L1226
but not sure if they will go with suit trousers?
Thanks and although trivial, I have never had to dress smart for work before
so sorry to bore most of you
:o:o:o

Don't mean to sound terrible but they are not 'smart' in my eyes - more casual and a bit like old granny shoes. My mum at 79 wouldn't even wear thoseWe’ve had to remove your signature. Thats fine, any advice welcome. I'm useless when it comes to dressing up smart and have the imagination of a gold fish, so I can't imagine what would look right, and what wouldn't.
What type would you consider smart?
Thanks0 -

Yeah they are quite nice, I can find some similar for half the price also haha
Although I wanted ones that covered all my foot with the winter coming so I could wear socks (I used to wear shoes like this at my last job, and socks looks stupid)... but I bet a pair of scissors and an old pair of tights will do....0 -

Wear knew highs with trousers and shoes. If wearing a trouser/trouser suit each day you can wear smart boots too
I have a pair of ankle boots - like these http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_050010109360_-1 but completely flat, and fur at the top (This would be covered by the trousers)
Could I get away with that?
Thank you0 -
Nope, size 6 sadly! No I didn't think of ebay, I will have a good search now
