I hope this is the right place for phone technical advice - if not please let me know.

I have a Sony Xperia U and I want to use My Tracks - but the GPS keeps dropping out.

O2 advised that I need to be always connected to G3/Mobile Data whilst using My Tracks etc. Is this true?

I think they are talking rubbish. It doesn't need mobile data connection for recording your position/movements.

If its poor GPS My Tracks will drop-out .

In GPS Status go to Tools
Manage A-GPS Reset then Download fresh A_GPS and check sats lock on .

If you have 3G turned off, the phone will struggle to get a good fix using cells.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
