Well, I can say with feeling that 2 days at that place was too much 🤣🤣🤣. It undid a lot of the good work that September had been doing for me. However, I'm more on an even keel even today, just 3 days later. Each evening feels like I'm on holiday as I don't have to go to work the next day.Today I've been sewing up items I'd knitted and adding eyes and mouths and whiskers where appropriate. And necks. And stuffing. I've started this evening on stabbing some turtles.I didn't make my secret goal of 50 items last month. In fact, I think I only completed 11, whoopsie 😎. Ah well, it is another month and a fresh start.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

I bumped into a friend after dropping Pip at school and the first thing I said was that I'd been back there for two days and it just wasn't worth it, in so many ways. So I think that's cleared up any doubt in my mind!I trotted to the gym and had a fun time with kettle bells before hitting liddle for harvest festival items for pip's school. Flippin' 'eck, the bag was heavy. I had to stop every 15-20 paces to swap hands. On the tram, I noticed a missed call from pip's school. Called 'em back and pip needed collecting. Pesky cramps. There was me all sweaty and rather smelly, unable to go more than a few paces without stopping, and still 20+ mins from home. So I called dh, who was back home, and he went and got them.In other news, pip's bursary continues through to sixth form. Phew.In other other news, I have now made 6 naked turtle bodies. In other other other news, I recently had two simultaneous news feeds: one for an October heatwave; the other for another Beast from the East. So I'm still wearing my shorts, but who knows for how much longer...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

Sounds like even covering isn't worth the money. They need to get used to you not being around, I wouldn't be surprised if you have to start saying "no" a lot to get them to stop coming back to you."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

I have started my Cmas shopping!A tote bag for the dance teacher. Some fluffy socks for Pip (known).A Totoro shoulder bag for Pip (surprise)- one of the straps for the buckles is missing, hence it cost just £8.50 from V1int3d, instead of around £45. I'm hoping that taking it to a shoe mending place will be a way to mend it.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!2

That is such a good idea @apple_muncher - if that does not work, a saddler will do it in seconds. In case you mix in horsey circles with horsey peoples - I still have two more birthdays before C-word, but one is C-word-Eve-Eve so I really should get my butt in gear (I will not get my butt in gear

Hmmm, I know no horsey people - obviously I don't move in the right circles... Guess I could ask the parents at the posh school...After going to the gym today, I nipped into the indoor market that runs every Thursday morning in the community room there. I got a few bargains
of course, and had a chat with the lovely lady who organises it. I now have her number. It only costs £10 or £12 depending on the size of the table you want - and many people had spread out rather a lot to either side. And she only needs to know the day before if I want a table. I can't believe it was that easy!
