As it is the 1st of the month, I've just been playing with the bank account. And have paid over £659.08 to the mortgage. About 200 was 'left over' from July (very pleased with this!) and the rest was the 'usual' plus a Tilly Tidy. Hmmm. Seems such a lot, doing it all in one go! Makes me wonder if I've got it right... Ah well. Time will tell. And I've gotten a loooonnng way towards the s t r e t c h fund target already. Yippee!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Thank you greent. Just hope I have enough left for the month ahead...
Today, dh looked after dd while I went out. I did plenty of ch shops and was able to have a lovely mooch. And get stuff! A great haul of wool, from various shops, extremely bargainous and inspirational for monsters. A few bits of clothing for dd's bday (jan!) and some books for when we all go away. A tee shirt and bikini for me, some tracky trousers for dh.
So much for the 'reduce the gubbins coming in!' I did take a bag to the Sally Army and used some of my credit to get dd a swim costume and shorts.
This afternoon we all went up to the local coffee shop - they do 'the best strawberry ice cream milk shakes ever'. I now have enough stamps to get 2 free hot drinks there - useful for not spending later on this month.
Really, really, really mustn't visit any more ch shops this month!
Am now stuffing monsters whilst scooby doo fights monsters.
2 more monsters, 2 owls and 2 puppies and I'll have to start knitting again!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Did a mini workout yesterday: 8k KB - 50x clean and press (2 hands - haven't dared try it withjust 1!), 50x 2-handed swings.
And this morning: what I call the MF (Men's Fitness not Mortgage Free) one: 6x steering wheel turns; 6 clean + press; 12 overhead lunge; 12 halo/round the world; 6 jump lunge; 12 lunge with twist. Did it just twice with the 5k DB
Off to church soon. For once dh isn't doing the PA, so I may have to sit with him...
Keto doing fine - down 2lbs from when we returned from being away, and back to where I was before we went away. It really does stop me being hungry and seems to be what my body likes.
This afternoon: prune the overgrown garden; whites wash; knitNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Whites wash done; pruning of the back garden mostly done. Tis only a teeny garden yet the weeds + cutting the 2 jasmines right back filled 7 binbags with green waste! Ultimately, the jasmines will be dug up when the fence is replaced - which should be this summer... - and there is sunshine streaming in through the kitchen window now. It needs a good clean!
And a little knitting done - a cushion/pillow for doll Peter, and most of a dog so far.
And the paddling pool has been blown up again, much to dd's delight!
Now to work out a route for tomorrow's jaunt to the Sylvanian Families shop in north Lunnon. Google reckons 90 mins so far but I want to try a different - and simpler to do - routeNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

- Reduce: stuff coming in to the house; food spends with dh away
- Re-use: re-purpose things (not sure what yet!)
- Recycle: + give away
- Keto eating
- Workout (MF or otherwise [walk 15k; swim]) /31 (eek)
- Knit/Craft /32
- Bags to Sally Army /5 (should remove /100)
- Swim with dd /5
Food /225 (being away = most costly even though we don't eat out)
Travel /200 ( poss 2 tanks of fuel, train tickets, oyster)
S t r e t c h f u n d /750
That'll do for now!
Just had a few thoughts - a dangerous occupation...
Was planning on reducing the food spends as dh will be away for up to 9 days this month. But we also GAIN 2 grown up visitors for about 12 days. And being away on holiday always costs more as dh invariably wants treats, even if I take them with us!
Am also going to change the s t r e t c h fund as I count my 'usual' 400 as normal, not extra. So i shall subtract 400 from what I have paid over, but also change the target to ...£400. Now this WILL be a stretch to achieve! Mostly attained by not spending rather than by making extra pennies.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
A quiet start to the day. Off to norf Lunnon later, with 2 girlies, on an adventure.
Dh went off to work early, as per usual. Tomorrow he has to be at Heathrow by 5.30/6am to meet his ds+ gf and bring them back here. Then on Weds, he is being picked up at 3.45am to fly to Norway for a few days. Silly times!
Am off to sweep downstairs - who knew that building a japanese-style house could produce so much mess, eh?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I have been well and truly worn out by 2 excited and excitable 7 year olds! The Syl Fam shop expedition has been accomplished, as well as finding a lovely playpark for lunch (and play!)
Now, 2 very happy girlies are spreading out all their gubbins on the rug...
I shall put a coffee on to brew, clean the bath and make up the spare bed (futon) while they play.
Ooh, and I knitted 2 doggies whilst on the trains.

TT of £4.80 made.
'nother doggie knitted - have 5 to stuff and stitch up now.
Will need to pay dance fees this month - £91. That'll pay for the whole term though.
Will try to use only cash from now on (having used my card to pay for travel today + getting dd a promised item)
Not spending is so much harder when not at work!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
I hear you on that, apple.0
