Ikea wardrobe problem

Taytay53, do you know if you had the Elga mirror made by supplier #12650? We also have an Elga mirror and it has warped quite badly. But according to Ikea's recall message (from 2011), the only affected mirrors had the code #12650. Ours has a different code.
Sorry to hear about your experience - glad no-one was hurt.0 -
Does anyone know the laws on this problem. Do Ikea have to replace the wardrobe "like for like" albeit they don't do that one any more, making you pay £120 for the nearest one. Or can they just give money paid, leaving you with no wardrobe?0

They don't legally have to even give you the money paid, they can make a deduction for the use you've had out of it. So depending on how much you paid and how long you've had it you could end up with next to nothing.
Take the full refund and maybe ask the manager to meet you halfway to the cost of the new one, or go elsewhere to buy a replacement.0 -
As in most things. if you want quality you have to pay for it.0
