Morning all.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but i will anyway.
My brother in law had a contract with orange.
we went in to Phones For You and he took out a new contract with vodaphone, Phones for you gave him the money to buy out of his current contract.
We went home and phoned orange and arranged to pay the remaining two or so months of the contract and to cancel it as he had switched to vodaphone.
Fast fowards 18 months and he has just realised that orange never stoped taking the money for his old contract.
By my calculation £600 +
I know he should pay more attention to his bank account and know where every penny is going / come from and so should have realised that they were still taking the money but thats another problem we are slowly getting sorted.
a few times by orange have put him in to an unplanned over draft as there wasn't enough money to cover the bill. Lloyds have been very good and refunded at least some of the money that they charged him because of this.
We phoned orange customer services and explained the situation and got to speak to a supervisor who wasn't really that much help, although he did offer to refund 6 months of it.
£200. we said that this wasn't acceptable and wanted a full refund of the money that has been taken. but he said that is all he could do.
So my question is whats the next step? Should we have just taken the £200?
Thanks in advance for any help / sugestions.
Cheers,
Colin.

Did he not cancel the DD when his Orange contact 'ended'? No one but the account hoider can do that.
If he did, then the bank is fully liable if they continued to authorise DD payments to Orange. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
