Hello, my work colleague is finishing up for maternity leave and she has hinted that she would like a baby gym as her baby present.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent one?
We should have quite a decent pot from the collection, so would like to buy a good quality / branded one, thanks !

We have this one. http://www.fisher-price.com/en_GB/brands/babygear/products/42526 (fisher price rainforest gym). It's about £50.
The music drives you crazy after a while, but it's the same with all toys. She loves batting at the toys dangling down and you can change them or add more as required.0 -
We've had a couple in the past...
http://www.mothercare.com/Bright-Starts-Deluxe-Baby's-Playplace/479125,default,pd.html was nice in terms of having the sides raised to start but then evolving into a playmat - however the design of it like that made it a nightmare in terms of collecting fluff in the velcro etc and with two kids the eldest regularly would dive bomb the sides on it.

It's still serving good duty underneath our jumperoo cushioning the base of the frame in case the littlest one rolls onto it and bumps her head and it's survived a LOT of washing and puking on thanks to the neverending reflux queen! Was planning on using it as a rug in the summer house once we'd finished with it as well as when you take the arches off it'll quite easily pass for one.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
My mum has just bought this for DS for Christmas.

I'd avoid this one: http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-elfie-mop-playmat-gym/759421800/type-i/
We found the 2 hoops aren't stiff enough to stand up straight and have slumped to the side. So bear in mind whilst looking at other gyms as well.0 -
my little one loved this ...

I have this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lamaze-Pyramid-Play-House-Gym/dp/B001TEIGYI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385038876&sr=8-1&keywords=lamaze+pyramid for our baby due in a month... I actually got it from Tesco online for about £18 and it looks good as can be changed to meet different stages of baby's development0

You want one that can be easily cleaned, minimal dismantling and ability to bung as much as possible in the washing machine or dishwasher basically.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
