HH - Wonderful news! When are they due?
NAR - Glad your pension seems to be sorted out.
    B Bird - Hope you're feeling a little better.
B Brain - Hope you enjoy having the stove in, I love ours. I bought heat logs and logs from Ald! last week. The heat logs are great but the logs not so good, quite wet. Also bought heat logs from Home Bargains at the weekend which were great, shall go back at the weekend to see if they have any more.

Work wasn't too busy for a change, probably start to warm up again when they start Christmas stuff. Had netball club after school which is always good fun.

Spag bol for tea later when DD gets in at 8, made it yesterday. Just had a bowl of soup (carrot and coriander) that I made yesterday, just the thing in this weather.

Had to spend ages scraping the car this morning and then the main road was closed as there had been an accident as it hadn't been gritted properly! Took an extra 15 minutes to get in.

    Take care. XX
  • Back again!

So much for not going on the walk. I was persuaded it was good weather in the north east of Wales & that Id enjoy it. Well weather was lovely, snow on the hills but old & sunny for walking. We did a out 6.5 miles including over the aquaduct. Tired now so freezer surfing for tea.

    Best wishes everyone. X

Well I haven't been up to much due to my leg, decided that going out for lunch on Sunday, with me squealing every time I stood up, was not a smart idea, so threw the cubed steak I found at the butcher into the SC, with some mushrooms, and looked for a Beef Bourgeon powdered sauce mix, only had Coq o Vin, so used that up (it was way out of date) :o with a. Beef Stock Cube, added some red wine, and it was gorgeous. I did Roast Pots (frozen ones they are less fatty than HM ones for DH), and Yorkshires. Seems my friend who can turn her hand to anything in the kitchen cannot get YPuds to rise, so I was giving her tips for a change.;) together with Cauli & cabbage, and mash. 4 clean plates :D. I over did everything as usual, so have had HM ready meals for the last couple of days.
Monday I went for a Pedicure, and was going to have a Back Massage, but decided to change it to a Leg one, boy was it needed. Found the source of my leg pain, and have been attacking it with my tens machine, so gradually improving. Today we have been reloading the caravan, after it's warranty work. We are off to Derbyshire on Thursday for the weekend. Insanity comes to mind. We are also off down to Newbury again for New Year in the caravan, hope the snow holds off. Also made a fruit loaf in the BM as it keeps DH going.
Tomorrow will be finishing off the 'van, doing some. Food shopping for the weekend, giving blood, and filling the car up. In have some liver for me, and Sausage for DH, which will probably do in a brunch form. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • They are due in June, but will probably arrive sooner.

A big welcome Jacksmummy. Good to have you amongst us.

Well ive looked after Grandbaby for a couple of hours whilst his Mummy went to the gym. How come I get to have him at the time he is the most grisly (tea time)? Apparently i'm having him overnight on Saturday too. I didn't know but my daughter mentioned it to her Dad and her Dad didn't think to mention it to me. Good job it is Saturday instead of Friday as i'm off out.

Feasted on TV till I got bored and back on here. I'm off to bed soon.

    Night all,

  • Wow Hester that is great news :T

Camelot the firm that are doing the installation supply all manner of things, it is all included in the price, such as a temperature gauge that you put on the stove and a moisture meter for the wood.

We do have some wood from taking down an old apple tree from the outlaws garden last year if we need it :D
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

BB I don't know how far your installers might travel but if you're happy with the stove once it's in, can I PM you for their details - I must get a few quotes and need a firm who can survey the chimney too.

Bringing home pallets from work here and there to cut up for kindling, a chap in the next village is selling bags of it from his drive at £4 each, daylight robbery!
