A meter is a no-brainer, since you can revert to RV billing within the first 12 months away.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you get it installed & then decide 11 months down the line you don't want it & get it removed, can you then get it installed again x-months/years down the line, or is it one time only?0 -

They will normally fit it on, or near, the pavement by your house.
Macman didn't say that the meter was removed if you decide(within 12 months) you don't want to have metered charges.
The meter remains in situ and you revert to charges based on your Rateable Value(RV).
In theory(if they remember) the next occupant will be metered.0 -
So if you decide within 12 months to come off the meter & revert back to RV, can you go back on a meter x-months/years later?0
-
Yes you can go back on to a meter at some point in the future but you will not be able to revert to RV again.0

Here's an interesting one.
So the jist is this -
* I enquire with our supplier & get told i wont have to pay. Even for using water as we are (toilet, coffee etc but not things like washing machine, shower etc)
* Get a bill from supplier
* Come on to MSE & get told i will have to pay
* Contact supplier by letter including a print out of the live chat i had with their employee. Told them what we will be using water for but that we're not living there, house is not furnished etc. Asked if we need to pay for water as we will set this up if so.
* Get a response from supplier via email....0 -
looks like they have applied the void status even though to be honest as you are using some water they should bill you.
Guess they are not going to fight about it though.0 -
It would appear that your water company have used common sense and 'turned a blind eye' to your situation.0
-
I must admit - i am surprised they're letting us use a bit of water (i understand 'bit' can mean different things to different people) essentially for free.0
-
They are not IMO 'officially' allowing you to use any water, and indeed under the provision of the Water Act they don't have that discretion.
They have covered themselves with the 'or someone moves in and starts using water' comment in the email.0
