Moving house - no net for 3 weeks - interim solutions??

I'm moving house on Thursday and Sky have just told me they cant connect broadband in my new property for THREE weeks. Great service!
I work from home, and need net access in the flat.
What are my interim options? A dongle? If so, what kind?
I can't just hook up to a neighbor's net as I need a secure connection...
Thanks in advance

3-4 weeks is perfectly normal for an OR broadband provision or line reconnection, especially at this time of year when the weather gets worse and faults increase. How quickly did you expect it?
If you work from home and your service is 'mission critical', then you need to pay for a business line, not a residential one. Otherwise you are technically in breach of contract anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you know anyone with BT broadband they may well have access to BT WiFi (which was previously known as Fon).

While I've not actually used it myself, as I understand it, once you register you can use the WiFi anywhere you see a BT WiFi network.
If someone will lend you their log in that might cover you as it is highly likely that in a block of flats you will see a BT WiFi signal.
While it comes via another users connection it is separate so there are no particular security issues. You will probably have a VPN to your work anyway.0 -

Sky told me 3 weeks, but they took a further 8 weeks! If this happens to you, complain loudly! I did, and they paid my mobile dongle charges,0
