I've currently got an old HTC Wildfire S, I figure I could continue using it, but is it worth me buying something new??
I would of course love an iphone but sadly can't afford to spend over £500.
Are there any smartphones on the cheaper end of the scale worth bothering with, I will admit I'm totally clueless!

A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Personally, I don't think that getting a new sim is a good enough reason for buying a new phone for it. However, if you really want to spend money, all depends on how much your want to spend.
There are good smartphones around below £100-£150 mark. Just search the board for 'huawei', 'zte', 'motorola'. Also, some Nokias.0 -
Wasn't there that y300 one that was all the rage a few weeks ago like the G300 but cheaperIt's not just about the money0

The new Motorola moto g has just come out and has great reviews...it's £135 sim free from Phones 4U for the 8gb version although Tesco may be releasing it a bit cheaper next week.
I'm very tempted as my HTC isn't holding battery power anymore.0 -
I was thinking about getting a new handset if I could find something with a better memory at some point anyway as my phone was my ex husbands and is well over 2 years old!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0

Is this the free sim that should have cost £8? The Google Nexus 5 is highly rated but costs £300. Still well below your £500 limit.0

lol, £500 is not my limit, I don't have £500 to spare, don't have £300 spare either!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
