Hi, just posting this as a placeholder so don't need to take up anyone's valuable time - yet!
Fantastic advice on here - the LBCCC thread from Daisy is just amazing. Thank you thank you thank you for doing this.
I'm the RK but my wife was driving. She had our grandson in the car and parked outside Boots where there is a line of spaces. Some are marked Parent/Child and some are marked Disabled. All the Parent/Child ones were full so she parked in a Disabled. There was no signage along the shop side, all signs are in the main body of the car park, so it's possible to park in one of these spaces and walk directly into a shop without seeing a sign. Also the mix of Parent/Child and Disabled is rather confusing.
Anyways, had all the usual bullying letters from UK Parking Control. I only recently found out there had been changes in the law, so I acted on "old " advice and ignored everything - haven't even said I wasn't the driver!
So I'm at the point where Debt Recovery Plus are advising me I will be a pariah in the world of credit unless I do exactly as I tell them!
Like I said, this is just a placeholder in case things do go further, or anyone who knows thinks I should be doing something different.
Thanks again to everyone who advises on here.

You will get responses as we always respond here.
First the slapped wrist and please tell your wife NEVER to do this, ever:She had our grandson in the car and parked outside Boots where there is a line of spaces. Some are marked Parent/Child and some are marked Disabled. All the Parent/Child ones were full so she parked in a Disabled.

rant over, but it's true. P&C bays are not a right, not the same as disabled bays even on private land.
Now your options are here under the DC (debt collector) paragraph:

Thanks Coupon-mad. We're normally quite zealous about disabled spaces, also having been responsible for ferrying disabled people around. No excuse, but in this case there were double figures of available disabled spaces, so nobody was inconvenienced.
Unless you think it unwise, my strategy will be to ignore until LBCCC and then advise on the driver identity.0 -
Seems fine if it's still UKPC anyway, as they never do court. I found this old thread on pepipoo:

...and the fact the poster never came back means he was happy to see out the letters (in spite of the emerging advice earlier this year to appeal to POPLA). UKPC have never taken anyone to court despite their website, discussed here recently:

So your plan is perfectly wise IMHO.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Got the DRP letter today telling me they were making me the bargain offer of £128 as PD suggests some sort of compromise attempt should be offered.
Will continue to ignore until such time I get the LBA0 -
Yep, that's the way, and even if you get a LBA from the debt collector it would still be an option to ignore that too seeing as a debt collector can't start a court claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
